Sound not working on Netflix?

I recently connected my TV to my stereo system via an audio converter. With Youtube and Spotify e.g. Everything also works but with Netflix or Amazon Prime the sound only goes through the TV. Can someone tell me what could be the reason and if you can somehow fix it?
