Problem sound TV?

I have a problem with the sound on my TV.

First the relevant connections: I have a Samsung Smart TV (TU7179) and a HomeTheatreSystem from Sony (BDV-e2100) which are connected to each other via HDMI and an optical cable. I have HDMI to get the picture from the HTS to the TV. With the optical cable I bring the sound from the TV to the HTS, for example when I watch a movie on Netflix. Logically as far as I hope.

The problem: If the HTS is switched on and the optical input is set, and I open the menu on the TV, then the feedback tone of the menu is reproduced via my HTS. Unfortunately wrong. Because the feedback tone repeats itself endlessly (flickers, tremors, hums, "or something") and if I switch to the menu and add more feedback tones from the TV, then they overlap and in the end it is a hum and hum orchestra. Very annoying. Exactly the same thing happens when I output the sound through the internal speakers in the TV. (The HTS is still connected, however). And here comes what I think is interesting: The TV speakers hum from the feedback sound, the HTS is connected but the sound goes through the TV. But if I now disconnect the optical cable AND / OR the HDMI cable, the sound stops immediately. Although nothing should actually "run" over these cables. Because the sound comes from the TV. If I plug the cables back in, it's quiet for now. Until I generate a feedback tone again. Then the fun starts again.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be? I hope I made that somewhat understandable. If not, please ask. I'm grateful for any help.

I also have a problem with the picture. It flickers every now and then. After restarting the TV, the flickering is gone again. Why am I writing this? I suspect that it has something to do with it, because so far it has only occurred when the HTS was connected. However, the flickering occurs very rarely, which is why I have not yet been able to sufficiently confirm the suspicion. But maybe it helps in answering the question.

Oh yes: Sometimes, most of the time, everything works as it should. Sound works, image works, everything works as it should. So the mistake is rather? By chance?

That sounds like feedback, did you connect it to the TV via the HDMI ARC connection, and if so why also the optical cable?
