Since I'm thinking of buying a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos system, I now ask myself which sources / stations actually emit which sound.
For example, there are Dolby Atmos films on Netflix. Don't they output Dolby Atmos films on Netlix "normal 5.1 sound"? Or what then?
Even when watching TV, what sound do I get there? For e.g. Formula 1 or football, what kind of tone do you get there? Is a movie on TV also with Dolby Atmos?
Also the question of whether it is (technically sound) worthwhile to watch Blu Rays? And if so, can all Blu Ray players output the same sound that was saved by the Blu Ray?
Thank you in advance and sorry for any stupid questions or false statements you may have.
As far as I know, normal television usually doesn't even support 5.1.
And if e.g. The movie is only 5.1, you only get 5.1.
Is very different.
When the broadcasters buy films / programs in 5.1, they are often broadcast that way.
Netflix - I don't know, I wouldn't spend a penny on that.
BluRay players do not output any sound, your surround system does that.
However, the players pass it on to the system as the sound is stored on the disc.
In other words, what is a Dolby Atmos system for? Only for Blu Rays or something else?
So some BluRays have Dolby atmos and some streaming services. But Atmos is very awesome if you like good sound
On the one hand, different transmission paths can offer different options.
5.1.2 and 1080p can definitely come via satellite, while the same broadcast only arrives in stereo and SD via cable. Or via streaming in 1080i and 5.1
there's no single solution
the sound formats of a bluray are always on the cover. Go from 2.0 (sometimes even just mono) to 9.1.
Then it depends on how much you want to invest in amplifiers, speakers, cables, etc. Then the options are given to position the speakers CORRECTLY. Incorrectly positioned 5.1 systems can sound worse than a 2.0 or 2.1
then the space itself also plays a role. Where is the tv, the couch (sitting position), are there sloping ceilings, etc., etc., etc.

Yes, in my opinion, I have already informed myself quite well about the system and receiver also the correct setup. And then I came up with reflector speakers and whether they are worth it at all. Because I haven't watched so many Blu Rays so far, but rather streamed again and again. Yes, shame on my head.
Therefore broken down whether the upgrade from 5.1 to 5.1.2 is worthwhile
