I have a problem with my Samsung Smart TV (UE55F6470SSXZG), connected the Fire TV Stick to the TV via HDMI and activated Dolby Digital sound output in the settings of the stick. So now I can e.g. Start a video on Netflix with 5.1, then I can also select Dolby Digital output via the optical output in the settings of the TV, but there's no sound, but when I play a stereo video on Netflix there's sound. (TV automatically switches to PCM um) (if Fire TV Stick on "Dolby Digital Plus Automatic", then firstly I can't select 5.1 sound on Netflix and in the settings of the TV Dolby Digital is grayed out and not selectable, but only PCM and DTS 2: 5). I connected the Logitech z906 with an optical cable.
Hope you can help me.
Try whether it is possible with the TV set to set the sound output to something like "Pure" or "Direct". Maybe there's "auto" or "automatic".
Otherwise, use the YouTube app to test how the sound output works (search term "Dolby 5.1 test" or similar). You can test this once with the Fire Stick and once directly on the Smart TV.
Thanks for the answer. If I use Netflix directly via the SmartTV, Dolby Digital works without problems, but the TV is very, very slow, so I bought the Fire TV Stick.
