Smart TV what is recommended as a 60 inch?

It seems to me that there are too many providers… Google, Alexa and something else… I don't have that much experience with the technical stuff. We have a 9 year old LG plasma TV. We have canceled Sky and want to buy Sky Ticket. The prerequisite is a smart TV.

I don't know anything except customs 🙈. 4k UHD, 5P isn't that the same? Energy is often F and G but I thought LEDs were economical 🤷. QLED and OLED aren't they the same? The Android should also be up-to-date as possible. I also have no idea what would be current…

I'm really overwhelmed.

All I need is a good picture, clear sound, and ease of use. Not too old bluetooth, at least 3 HDMi and at least 2 USB interfaces. Wall mounting on a universal bracket would be great and priced at a maximum of 1200 euro.

The best from Amazon has an extremely bad app store and doesn't really work with USB either. If I understand this correctly. There's so much data.

With all of them, I also ask myself whether there's Amazon. Netflix and YouTube works. Can I also use my horison box there or everything is only possible via WLAN. Is WLAN actually possible or do you need a LAN cable? Does internet cost extra on the TV? Phew… I feel so stupid 🙈

I thank you in advance for the help. 😁

So if the current LG plasma TV is enough for you, you can also take a cheaper alternative: Amazon Fire TV Stick, Google Chromecast, Apple TV, … As a direct purchase.

If you still want to receive an update after 9 years, you can comment and I will be happy to advise you.

The energy label is a topic in itself, as far as I know, they were changed in 2021 because many things were always of the highest value. These have become more stringent to create more transparency for consumers. A little addendum to a few of your questions:

Internet on TV costs as much as your monthly Internet tariff costs. So with a normal landline connection there are no additional costs. The television is treated by your network in the same way as any other device in the network (cell phone, laptop, …). Smart TVs have i. D. R. Amazon, Netflix and YouTube in this period. Wi-Fi is possible if your Wi-Fi transmits well to the television. With a LAN cable you have a more stable connection. In the price range 1000 euro-1200 euro you are well served, preferably a television with Android TV, as these have a very good operating system. Yes, the Android that you also know from cell phones. It has been optimized for televisions and tailored to their functionalities, but of course the app selection is not huge. But entertainment is always there, including things like Disney + etc.

Thank you very much for your support and information.

I have horizon and an old unitmedia tariff and I haven't changed because I can't see through the jungle tariff. I'm young, but all this data with up, loade and co 🤯. I haven't had a good lead either! Our house doesn't want to modernize. Is too expensive and so we still have age-old coaxial cables and the standard attenenbuxe via which the signal comes in and the router is connected to the F plug and via cable also to the F plug on the Horisonbox. It has its own internet. The Wi-Fi is not really good, but everything works so far. 2 cell phones go over the 5g and the other devices are in the 2.5G. The sonos can't in the higher and neither can the PS4. The network is already quite overloaded and wanted to use Dlink as a WLAN switch, but the line where the TV is, is not connected to the line in front. I have no idea either. We only have 2 1/2 rooms. I don't really have a lot of power sockets… I've already thought about swapping the dining area with the TV, because I have at least one socket on the side. I have this hanging in the bedroom right now. It's really complicated! That is why it is also important that the TV does not eat too much electricity.

Connect an Alexa or Googel device for Internet to the TV, I don't know exactly how it would be compatible with the Internet, the Horisonbox and the Sky. But I would also like to have a new frameless TV one day. Maybe a 3D compatible with the Bluray player. I know you shouldn't be bigger than 60 inches with the small distance to the TV, but maybe I'll make the effort and move the apartment, then we have a bigger TV option and could also save with the cable and need fewer sockets laughs.

It's just a lot of work.

Ar

Edit, my ps4 shows me that Sky Ticket is possible, I just have to register. Netflix and Prime from Amazon are also possible on the PS4. A friend of mine said that I should click on TV and video. That's really cool. I only use the thing for gaming but I already said that I have no idea about technology… 😔

What you can do with the console is great 😅 but a larger TV would be nice. The plasma makes a lot of heat, especially in summer.

Li

Well, everything has its price.

I would strongly recommend you to change your UnityMedia tariff, as this is an old tariff with a high probability and you will pay too much for too little. UnityMedia, which is now Vodafone, because Vodafone has bought UnityMedia, of course, does not budge, as it is very profitable for them. Little performance, but cashing in a lot - nobody would budge. What kind of line do you have? It doesn't really matter whether you get cable internet via F-connector. I do the same and get 1Gbit (equivalent to 1000Mbit) through. Cable is good because it uses new techniques for efficient exploitation called DOCSIS 3.1.

What kind of plasma TV is that exactly? Can you tell me the model number or the power consumption of this one. Newer ones will be much more efficient, don't let the energy labels distract you. With the old label, they would have been located much higher, definitely rated A. Your current one would be very far down. The new labels have become stricter, as the technology has developed a good bit forward within the 9 years. That's why efficiency is now defined differently. To cut a long story short: everything is very likely to consume far less electricity than your current TV.

To your WLAN: There's no 2.5 G, but "only" 2.4 Ghz. This has nothing to do with 3G, 4G and 5G as you know from cell phone tariffs, but are the Ghz - i.e. The frequency on which the radio is broadcast. 5Ghz has more power, but it can't transmit as far and at 2.4 Ghz it is exactly the other way around. This so-called Horizonbox is, I think, as I understood it, connected to its own coax connection for cable television. At the same time you have a modem router with which you get the Internet, I assume. These Alexa and Google devices should actually work as long as you have a decent Wi-Fi range. You don't really have to renovate the apartment for something like that, but you definitely have to invest a bit more in technology in general because I strongly suspect that you are still running with very old technology and therefore have these problems. In addition, the FireTV stick is only an HDMI clip-on mini device which only needs extra USB for more power and works fine. But Horizonbox is another story, you watch TV with the satellite and not your own, I suppose. To do this, you simply have to change the input source and it should all work. Think of it as if you had an Xbox connected in addition to the PS4, you just have to change the input. As I said, you don't need that because you want a new TV and many Smart TVs can do this directly from home, so the PS4 does not have to run in parallel unnecessarily.

I'm looking for televisions in the price range 1000-1200 euro. If you provide more information about your contract, your TV, Wi-Fi & Co., it would be very helpful to assess your situation. I'll call you right back.

Li

So, after doing some research, I'll get back to you and ask: Does it have to be 3D? These are expensive and because of the 3D feature, savings are made in other corners. I would recommend a non-3D TV if possible. There's only one in your price range anyway, which is visually ugly (m. M. N.) and can't do much about it: https://geizhals.de/...ml?hloc=de

Ar

I thank you very much for your help. I do not know what exactly I have for a tariff. 3 play 150 I think. I'll call vodka tomorrow and ask if they have a different tariff. I actually only use the Internet and I only have the horison because you can record online when you are out and about so as not to miss a program. We finally got off the sky. Now with the ticket you no longer have to book other tariffs and save 40e a month. Unitmedia are also 60s and too much for what we actually use.

I have to convert my old antenna cable. Then I can put the router on the TV and connect the consoles to the network by cable and then the connection is better.

If I take a new tariff does the router also go online via the attenenkabel? I have no memory of what it was like 9 years ago before we moved up. 20 years ago the d1 modem always made funny noises and you could only laugh at the internet or phone. Then we had ISDN and so you could do both. Telecom was expensive, however, and I don't know exactly where we were, far too long ago unit the in-house move was then forced by unitmedia… Our company asked for the aks main provider at the time. Not everyone who still uses attenne and didn't want cable tv and internet did it. Only when cable was abolished did they look for a tv provider because they no longer got alke channels. That was something too. I also have no idea what exactly that was.

I only have a few girlfriends 60+ who are then freenet. I don't really have to be with Vodafone, should I? I can also cancel my tariff or will it simply be extended? I no longer have online access since switching to Vodafone.

I don't need much internet and a recording device 😅. So I watch the tv and then write to you again. I don't necessarily need 3D, it would just have been cool if it had worked

Ar

I can't really do much with it 🙈 my expert tells me it's out of stock. I also prefer to buy through Amazon.

Li

So 40 euro-60 euro with bad management is definitely overpriced. I wouldn't call Vodafone either and yes, after UM was bought you are a customer of VF. With the hotline you only turn on an expensive tariff. It is best to cancel and sign up for a new one with VF, as you get the best conditions. Regarding the television: So I'm looking without 3D, it's better that way, better quality for your money. Do you really need a recording device? If in doubt, simply look up the desired series in the online media library or, for example, on YouTube. B. If available. There's still Netflix and Co.

Regarding the topic with Amazon: I understand, they are much more accommodating there. But if the same TV z. B. If the competition costs 200 euro less, it is better to buy there. Both have a 2 year guarantee anyway. I would even recommend that you take out an extension of the guarantee if the conditions are favorable. B. For 5 years. But watch out, what is included because sometimes they sell you a stripped-down guarantee and in the end you e.g. B. Refuse replacement or repair.

I'm now looking for non-3D televisions and I will let you know again.

Li

So I browsed and looked a bit.

Here's a TV with an OLED panel:

https://www.mydealz.de/deals/lg-oled65bx9lb-oled-65-uhd-4k-smart-tv-webos-50-mit-lg-thinq-fur-member-1769072 (over budget, but good TV)

https://www.mydealz.de/deals/lg-oled55bx3lb-4k-uhd-webos-smart-tv-hdr-dolby-vision-fernseher-single-triple-tuner-1794769 (In budget, good TV)

Both of these do not have Android TV but webOS, but that has mostly Netflix & Co. Already included. One more small warning: with OLEDs, if the image stays the same for too long in one place, it can burn itself in. These are z. B. Residues that look like this:

Smart TV what is recommended as a 60 inch

Anyway, that actually only happens if the television is operated too brightly in the freeze frame. Since the pixels age and you have a "ghost image" or a residue and it always remains, although it should not be there.

Here you can also browse around, here are AndroidTVs. They have a much better surface:

Ar

Thanks. Yes, with the series it's nice and the online newspaper to program things is great too. But it's actually unnecessary…

Li

I doubt that's unnecessary. TV recording died out in this age. Based on your statements, you can also tell that you have lagged behind with technology. The world continues to develop, whoever stands behind will be mercilessly overtaken. I would strongly recommend that you give this a try as this is all ultimately being done for our comfort.

Ar

I'm nostalgic😅 anything is possible in the virtual world it seems to me, but I prefer to buy films. I got that from my husband. He was also very crazy about the video library and is not a fan of the online media library that has replaced the video library. We have a huge collection of films. Take series and programs that are not necessarily available in the media library. Most of them are deleted online at some point because they need space. No plan xD.

Oled sounds a lot like the old tube monitor haha. But I'm completely honest I can't do without that. I'm very curious about what they are offering me and I hope not to have to buy new devices again… Since my old ones also run like that… Hm is really bad and now I feel completely old 🙈

Ar

The device is from Hungary? 🤣 The first one is too expensive and I think I'm still waiting for corona and watch it live, it's all so much online. I can't decide…

Li

Yes, you are welcome to do that. OLED has the special feature that it can switch off the pixel at the points where there's a black image and that does not have to be illuminated. This leads to good and even real black, since other panel types can't. On the other hand, OLED has the risk of burn-in if it is operated too brightly with permanently standing images. I actually didn't look closely at the recording function, but I suppose that should work. I'll do a little more research tomorrow.

It's currently on sale in Real 450 euro what do you think of that?
