My current setup consists of: iPhone 7, iPad Pro 9.7 with Pen, Apple Watch 2, AirPods.
Now I miss my opinion and my workflow after, even a MacBook.
Well, this year's WWDC has spawned the new iPad OS. Now, the iPad Pro series is approaching more and more a Mac.
First, why would I use my setup?
I'm studying mathematics, history and biology for teaching and working as a tutor and teacher. Then of course for the usual things like emails, Netflix and possibly gambling, vlt. With shadow (streaming).
So I have two options:
1.) I leave my setup and add a Macbook Pro 2019 with Touchbar.
2.) I sell my iPad Pro 9.7 with Pen and buy a new iPad Pro 12.9 with Smart Folio and Apple Pen 2.
Currently, I tend to MacBook Pro, because I'm just the idea that the iPad Pro can't replace a full-fledged Mac, Finally, the iPad has only one port, no right keyboard than the click part for 200 euro and has no OS with Terminal / full of control, if you understand what I mean…
Do you have any tendencies and can list these justified?
I would choose the 1st Option: With a MacBook you have again quite different options than with an iPad Pro:
More programs
Good keyboard always there
More quickly
Mostly more memory
I would tend to the Macbook.
The OS update on the ipad comes only in the fall (probably September).
Due to the few connections, the worse keyboard and the mobile OS, the Macbook performs better.
Do not forget the student discount.
For your requirements probably enough 15 ", Touchbar, i7,16GB DDR4.
The graphics unit should fit.
When SSD vllt go to 512GB.
Naaa, more memory is not necessarily, the memory may be cheaper, but otherwise there's the 1TB version and me enough for a MacBook already 256 GB. Mac faster is not really synonymous, seen single core, the Mac can certainly score with the i5 and hyth up to 4.1 Ghz, but the iPad has 8 cores are not that bad and in multi CPU tests, the iPad performs better
But as you say, significantly more programs and the keyboard XD
Uff… XDDD I really wanted to get the MacBook Pro 13 "with TB and 256GB haha xD so much power it does not need
I think even the little MacBook 12 would be enough for me…
The iPad pro series does not change to a Mac, but both to ever better mutual complement.
Since you already have an iPad, you still need a Mac. Your first option is the better way.
I suspect somehow that the iPads and Macs are getting closer and there's only one "MacPad" at some point, which enjoys all advantages xD
But yes, I like the first variant better and hope that Apple will continue to develop.
At some point we only work with voice-controlled AR glasses. Nobody needs a MacPad.
I wish so something from IronMan so mix of AR, intuitive rumgewische in the air and a Jarvis
That's all there already, just not suitable for everyday use and affordable.
I meant that you can do with the iPad just no elaborate renderings or something. You already have a good iPad for that
