Smartphone or book before going to sleep?

I read that in the evening you should pick up the book as a smartphone again. Is reading a book physically or mentally better than paddling around on the cell phone in the evening. Is that true or does it affect sleep?

And: what is your evening routine like? Reading, Netflix and co or sleeping right away?

LG and thanks in advance.

A book is much better for sleep and it is easier on the eyes.
The display lighting on the cell phone negatively influences the sleep rhythm.

The bright, bluish glow of the display causes excitement in the brain. The bustle in it too. Add to that the often exciting content that you get there.

You come down with a book. It does not shine, the content is less arousing, the constantly moving eyes make you tired. If you fall asleep while doing so, if you notice that you have to read the line again and again because your eyes close in the middle, you turn off the light and quickly reach the dreamland.

Leaving the hectic world of smartphones behind at least in the evening makes a lot of sense. Books relax and show that the analog world so despised today was psychologically better for people.
