IPad Air 2020, 64 or 256 GB?

I plan to buy a new IPad Air 2020 for school, but I don't know whether to go for the 64GB version or the 256GB version. I'm in the 9th grade at a high school and will mainly use the iPad for taking notes, creating learning sheets, for projects, lectures and presentations, but also for Netflix, YouTube and games. I would also like to benefit from my iPad for a longer period of time and you shouldn't save on the wrong side, but the 256GB variant is not cheap.
What would you recommend?

Maybe an older iPad model with 256GB will do the same? Do you need the power of an iPad 2020?

If you can afford the larger version then buy the 256GB.

My daughter is in the 12th grade and has got the 64GB variant of the iPad Air 4th Gen. Bought because of them

does not want to save videos and films on it

So the 64GB are enough. Because even for a large photo collection with 10,000 photos, you only need 20GB. As you can see, the storage space has not yet been reached and there's plenty of space left for something else.

That is the reason why I only bought the iPad 2020 with 32Gb, because apart from the photo collection I hardly need any storage space. You don't have to lug around your 50,000 photos either. I chose a selection of 1,000 euro so I still have plenty of space.

I don't want to have films and videos on it anyway, because I can't get along with iTunes. I bought an adapter for the photos, which makes transferring them from the SD card to the iPad really easy.

If so, buy the newest one. All apps work there. I offered my daughter the cheaper iPad Pro from 2017 with 256GB and 4G. But there are some current apps that don't necessarily work. So we gave it back in 2017 and bought it in 2020.
