How fast can a fiber optic connection be in the apartment?

I'm moving into an apartment soon, there's a fiber optic cable up to the apartment. (relatively new building in the center of a major German city)

Now I ask myself, what kind of bandwidths could one achieve with something like that (theoretically / technically)?

What can you actually expect as a private customer?

And what kind of tariff would make sense if you actually only plan Netflix and Co. As a big data hog or maybe even want to gamble when the woman is streaming something.

(The Telekom logo is thickly emblazoned on the system)

With fiber optics are at least 250 - 500mb / s in there maybe even 1000 if it is not from Vodafone.

But with your requirements, 100mb / s would be enough

ti

You can usually get 10-40gbit out of such an optical fiber. Sometimes more.

Most of the time, only gbit is offered.

Ly

Normally you can expect a maximum of 1000 Mbit / s in the download and 200 Mbit / s in the upload.
You can test what they say here:

1 Gbit is generally the maximum that network operators offer. However, you can then be sure that you will get the speed.

We have a 300 Mbit tariff (fiber optic) and 360 Mbit arrive.

But think about it very well whether you get a 1 Gbit line. In general, you can say that it is unnecessary and that you can never make full use of the line.

Ro

We have the gbit from Vodafone, but mostly only 960 arrive, although we have a business line (that means we don't share it with anyone, otherwise the network operators like to sell a line to 10 people) at Vodafone online you can look up something is maximum in your apartment at the moment. Simply enter the address, then it will load briefly and then they will tell you that (do not commit you to anything at first)
