Do providers other than Netflix also have series that are incomplete?

On Netflix I've found quite a few series that ended "in the middle" even though the story wasn't over.

Since series are not always shot to the end, this will probably happen in general.

This is exactly why I'm not a fan of streaming. You are too dependent on licenses.

I watch my favorite series on DVD. And even there there are unfinished series… 😞

Series that are still being produced usually have no end of the story ^^

If the series is dropped due to a lack of success / fulfillment of expectations, then it usually has no end. There are exceptions, series in which one season = 1 story.

With completed series, the chances of completing a plot are higher, but no guarantee.

Unfortunately, nowhere is it noted whether the story was brought to an end. At least I don't know any database site that offers such information.

This problem has been around for as long as there are series. I used to find it particularly noticeable and annoying with anime. By earlier I mean 20 years ago. So no, Netflix didn't invent the open / broken ending. It has always been there on TV. And then there are the series with many seasons which will be discontinued at some point and which will then quickly be given a snot.
