Is recording with a recording program such as z. Bandicam of movies / series from media libraries or streaming service providers like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sky etc. Allowed or illegal.
Although I have read that I have the right to a private copy in such cases, especially in the streaming service providers who demand money for their content.
But in times of Abmahnanwälten and "Internet is new territory politicians" skeptical of the legal situation.
I also do not intend to bring the records online or otherwise spread or to earn money by illegally distributing movies / series.
If someone uses recording programs for recording films and series or knows exactly the legal situation, I would be glad about an answer.
As long as you do it all privately and do not distribute it, everything is fine.
The question is what do you do with it. Television sets even have the function to record broadcasts to watch them later… You look at the series ei fold later. If you only private it is legal. And so it ka yes nobody realize that you sabfilmst there. I would have just done it. What should be forbidden because of who you paid for it
I'm not a lawyer, so I do not claim to be completely sure of the legal situation. But for my understanding that is already illegal. Because a streaming service is available to you only as long as you pay for it. Special works even only as long as the provider has a valid license. If you now download a movie or a series in this way, you bypass these two barriers.
But apart from that, that's not what I know. Netflix and Co. As far as I know usually programmed so that Screen Capture programs can't capture the content of the films. (Similar to online banks.)

Well that's not how it is, of course. I have a hard drive receiver and a Sky subscription. My receiver does not care if I cancel Sky tomorrow or Sky goes bankrupt tomorrow. I still can watch all the anime that I recorded on Animax back then, although Animax has not been available to Sky for 3 years.
Sky go even allows me to download movies and TV shows from Sky so I can watch them offline, but it only works for tablets and mobile phones.
Accordingly, I would say that Netflix, Sky and Co. I do not deny the right to a private copy, but want to make sure with technical aids that my private copy remains a private copy.
Since my hard drive receiver is getting fuller and I really do not want to part with old recordings, a screen capture program would have been a sensible alternative for me.

As far as I know, it does that very well. I myself never used Sky, but a good friend of mine and after he had canceled his subscription, the films on his hard drive were no longer synonymous. And I suppose that's how Netflix downloads will behave.
Well, I just looked it up. From the Netflix Help Center:
Can I still view my downloads when I close my account?
No. Once your account is closed, you will no longer be able to view downloaded songs.
So the downloads are just as temporary as the paid subscription. So even if you get a similar effect with a screencapture, you are denying Netflix the opportunity to deny you access to it and thus violate the contract.
