Cinemas are known to be one of the biggest losers in the political corona lockdown. People have now switched to Netflix and Disney + and got used to it.
Why are there still some who believe that there will still be cinemas after Corona? It will never be like it was before 03/20.
Not 100%. But it's still a different experience in the cinema, the huge screen, the sound that you can't really regulate. If the cinemas regulate the prices again in such a way that you can't only go once a year, they will get a boost again.
Hmm, as in other areas, Corona has accelerated effects that would have existed without the pandemic, just not as strongly…
The cinema industry in particular had to struggle with problematic phases again and again.
As TVs became popular, the large and expensive cinema palaces became unprofitable and were replaced by small box-type cinemas. As more and more people had more channels and then video, the cinemas had to offer a lot of films AND some decent technology, the multiplex cinemas. The DVDs and HD on TV brought ever better sound to the cinemas, digital technology, 4K, 3D, … In the meantime, many have huge TVs, great sound systems and stream films in 4K at will.
But that all happened without Corona! Due to Corona, however, the cinemas have to think earlier how they want to top that…
Admittedly, I don't have such an idea… If 8k comes, it will also happen in the private sector, 3D has not really caught on… As far as I know, there have been no new 3D TVs for a few years…
Flebbe, the CinemaxX founder from Hanover, took a completely different path years ago, took over his first CinemaxX again and converted it into a 'luxury cinema', although it is hardly more expensive. Lots of space, wardrobe, service at the seat, some with a table and the possibility to put your feet up…
You can also have your coffee at home. Nevertheless, there have always been cafes. It will be the same with cinemas. It's a completely different experience than watching a movie on the sofa at home.
I'm not one of those who have got used to Netflix, I miss it a lot, just chilling out with friends and watching a movie in the cinema. And if Corona should be over at some point, I will do that again, you can take poison on that!
Hall oils,
I think it's a completely different experience. With the sound / screen / popcorn… I'll go again when it opens, even though I've watched a lot of Netflix now.
