First of all… I know that many people are even worse, but I have to write my frustration off my head: Two weeks ago, I only had to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriend, since I was not allowed to see friends or family. Tomorrow is my best buddy birthday and I can only congratulate him via WhatsApp instead of having a good party.
My girlfriend complains to me every day that she's getting fat because we can't go to the gym.
Today's advertising brochure in the mailbox advertises swimwear, camping gear and sun protection. There are also pictures of people in the outdoor pool and on the beach. None of this will be possible this year. I can't start my vacation trip in July and my mails to the travel portal and the airline regarding rebooking remain unanswered for weeks.
In addition, my company has short-time working, which reduces wages and only gives me all the more time to look meaninglessly at the telly or stare at the wall. All projects such as tidying up the apartment, putting on a new PC, mucking out clothes, etc. I've done for a long time.
So I wanted to devote myself to my second favorite hobby - besides traveling - home improvement. Now I realize that without small purchases in the hardware store, you won't get anything here.
In all Netflix and Prime series, I only see people traveling, going out or meeting friends, which is why I can no longer enjoy them. The same applies to books, three of which I have read alone in the past two weeks.
I just don't feel like it anymore. And how are you with Corona?
I'm doing very well so far, even if it is very warm outside.
It is a pity that many people can't celebrate their birthday just because of such a ridiculous virus.
I also think it's exaggerated that Germany makes a mask requirement. The normal measures would have been enough.
Now I feel similar to you say short-time work in the next 2 weeks.
Since I have a lot of time at home I thought about pursuing my hobby.
Even if I have absolutely nothing to do with sewing machines professionally (electrical engineer), I like to do such work.
Now I have got sheets of flat rubber and wire and sewed masks. So far 82 pieces have been made.
2 pieces are for personal use, 10 are packed in reserve, 70 pieces are sold.
I think that's pretty cool!
