For a Blu-ray player, set the image size to automatically adjust to the full size of the screen?

Why do I have a big TV, if at e.g. Blu-ray's image format is sometimes set so that the entire screen is not exploited? Top and bottom are sometimes black bars, but in the next scene then the entire screen is exploited again.

Is there a setting that causes the format to always adjust to the full size of the screen?

If I recall correctly, I have the problem with e.g. Netflix not. Since the entire screen is always used.

that would be a bad idea, because then the quality suffers underneath and above all, something is cut away from the picture!

Cinema films are usually not in 16: 9 television format, but in a widescreen format, so then just on the TV at the top and bottom are black bars. In the width, however, the picture fills the full format of the TV and you see the whole picture

Normally, the picture would have to remain constant and not constantly switch as you do. Since you have probably, probably s.Television, some automatic activated, you should turn off, then the picture remains the same. As I said, I would not set it in your place so that the screen is filled, because then either the image is distorted or cut off

Probably in series, because they are of course produced for the TV and therefore also in 16: 9 format for TV, so that the screen is filled. If (cinema) films are synonymous full screen, then because something is cut off from the image or the image is distorted. In both cases, not a good solution, especially since the quality at Netflix already screwed down compared to, for example, BluRay, if you then cut away something and the image hochskalierst, then the image quality again worse

be

Because a lot of movies are recorded in 21: 9, but your TV is 16: 9 because of that you have black stripes up and down.

Thank you, then I'll leave it as it is.

Concerning. Of the changing image format during the movie I have found a well-explained article, apparently the partial intention is:

OK, such a format change has not come to me yet or not noticed (except stop, if there's shown in a movie an old television picture, which is then in the old 4: 3 TV format)
