For some time now I have been collecting CD's, DVD's, Blu-Ray's, steelbooks & figures, was something like a family hobby to watch movies when I was little - footnote Sunday. I'm therefore very attached to this hobby, but am now afraid that I will spend my money unnecessarily. If, for example, the last Scorsese film comes out in 5 years & it is not available on Blu-Ray, that would really drag me down. I'm currently in my mid-twenties, will the Blu-Ray still exist when I'm an old cracker & can calmly continue collecting or is it all a waste of money & I should rather invest in something sensible?
The Blue-Ray will probably be around for a very long time, if only because the CD has been around since 1982. Hope this answers your question.
