Is that why I'm 13 not so at ease?

Aptoide and Watched were available in the Google Playstore some time ago. According to the results of my last question, they are illegal. Why do these illegal apps end up there and are only removed after 2 to 3 weeks? I don't understand the system, anyone can simply put their own apps in there without Google looking at them or are these apps reported or stiked by Netflix etc. How does it even work?

Ha

It's by no means illegal, just no other app stores are allowed on Google Play. You can still download it as an APK.

I was written that Aptoide and co. Piracy is because you can download money apps for free.

Ha

Can you do that? I thought there were only free apps there. Maybe you are right.

I downloaded the original minecraft version there for free and also downloaded the original bloons tower defense 5. On watched there are prime originals and Netflix series for free that otherwise cost money and should only be on prime. Therefore, I deleted everything again.

I don't understand the system, everyone can simply put their own apps in there without google looking at them or these apps become

Basically, in contrast to Apple, Google does an automated check of the app, which normally only looks to see whether there are any viruses or obvious malware in it. There's no check of the app functionality by employees, as is the case with Apple.

Both approaches have their problems: At Google, apps can end up in the store that simply do illegal things. They then stay there until they are either reported somehow or until Google finds out itself. But the publication period is very short.

At Apple, however, such behavior would be recognized directly. Unfortunately, apps were not allowed in the store either because the auditors thought the app was doing something illegal, which it didn't do at all. As of recently, developers can also object to this and clarify what the app is doing and Apple also reacts to it. However, since every publication is followed by a manual check by an employee, it takes a comparatively long time to publish an app in the store.

So: both programs are basically legal. At least in Germany.
But that doesn't mean you can't do anything illegal with it.

An app store could distribute illegal software and streaming software could be preset to illegal media sources.
Both would be good reasons to ban them from the official stores.

It can be similar to http://kodi.tv:
KODI is of course legal as media and streaming player software.
But: There are add-ons for this software that enable illegal streaming.
Of course not in the official addon directory. But similar to Android you can install addons (or apps) from third sources.

It even happened that various Android boxes of Chinese origin delivered these illegal add-ons already pre-installed on the devices sold.
That makes the Android box "illegal" but not the "KODI" software as such.

In short: you have to take a close look at what software does in order to assess whether and what is illegal. (Apart from the fact that different things are illegal depending on the country!)

No. As you mentioned, Aptoide itself is not illegal. At least as long as you only download apps that are also free in the Play Store. At Aptoide, however, all apps are free… This is then no longer so legal. In practice, however, this is never pursued
