My phone has problems with my W-Lan?

I've been having problems with certain app features for about a year when using my Wi-Fi. For example, I can't use the Netflix app or send snaps. However, everything works with other connections, whether they are other networks or mobile data. I already have two completely different phones (so on the Galaxy J5 and the Moto G7 plus)

I say thank you now

That are very old model maybe that's why you have problems

Hu

This sounds like connections are being blocked in routers

So the G7 Plus came out in February 2019

It can't be that, because on my Galaxy Tab 2 everything works.

In some routers (e.g., FritzBox), there are filter lists that filter out malicious web pages. Each new WLAN / LAN client gets the first contact with the FritzBox a profile (standard, guest, unlimited, …) allotted.

Since you can specify different profiles in a FritzBox / change and assign each new WLAN / LAN client one of these profiles.

So if you use such filter lists, then direct access to the IP address (without using a DNS resolution) are initially blocked. This blocking behavior is described in Fritz boxes as follows:

Quote:

If a filter is active for websites, the direct call of IP addresses is generally blocked. You can specify exceptions in the list of permitted IP addresses.

Quote end.

Also explained here:

https://service.avm.de/help/de/FRITZ-Box-6490-Cable-lgi/017p2/hilfe_internet_filter_erlaubte_ip_adressen

Thus, one must set an exception for IP addresses that you want to grant anyway. A locked IP address is also listed in the event log of the router (see FritzBoxes under System / Events).

Or DO NOT use these filter lists. So unfavorable constellations can be defined.

Recommendation: Check the event log, as you can see blocked calls, and then it clearly sees which IP was blocked.

PS:

I have personally made this experience with my FritzBox.

If filter lists are specified in the router (eg FritzBox), your Galaxy Tab 2 could be assigned a different (not so restrictive) profile in the router, so that the Galaxy Tab 2 successfully reaches the IP addresses, but the other devices with a different (more restrictive ) Profile of the router work and then this IP address will be blocked (look into the events of the router).

Hu

Then compare the version number of the app on both devices.

In the router you can filter per device

I would first look for the error at the router and try the usual procedure: reboot, factory reset, etc.

Then you can look in the router, if there are locks or possibly a firewall.
