LAN and Streaming = High Ping, before no problems now ping problems, splitter the problem?

Moin, I describe the problem then closer…

Recently, we have 1&1 TV over the Internet to book and then quite quickly noticed that I have high ping latencies in games when TV is streamed (Chromecast, in the old apartment was all right where we had the router directly to the box.

Now I have because of lack of cable length NEN splitter (thus actually not the use of a splitter) at the box which then leads over a LAN cable to the router so that I can use the router over LAN with a further LAN cable.

So, now the question would be whether the splitter because it is very inappropriate and therefore I have problems with the latencies, before everything went in the old apartment as the router was directly s.den the box when Netflix was streamed.

I suspect that instead of splitter you mean a switch, because Ethernetsignale can't be shared.

No, that means you do not have enough bandwidth. You can try to fix the problem with Quality of Service (QoS) settings. Try to reserve some bandwidth and put the priority on your games.

With the video you can analyze between which devices the problem lies

Vllt has "1 & 1 TV" somehow stronger impact on the ping than netflix?
otherwise do a ping test, if not streamed over the DSL line… https://breitbandmessung.de

n Splitter can basically only harm… However, the line itself is certainly the bigger problem…

What exactly do you understand by splinters?

Tr

Yes, a splitter can slow down internet speed.

It used to be that the telephone and the Internet were transmitted in different frequency ranges - and the splitter then separated them so that only telephone signals arrived at the telephone jack and only the Internet signals at the router.

Meanwhile (VoIP) is used in part the entire frequency range for Internet - the fragment would take away so a part.

Br

What's that supposed to be a splinter?

Of course, I do not know 100%, if the questioner says something like that… But I can (theoretically) imagine that there are cables from TAE to RJ54 today… And he just instead took such a splinter, who also TAE in RJ45 from Connection converted.

Br

No, he does not write about that.

Such a splitter, which is just just necessary for cable extension so I have LAN and not rely on wireless.

Of such a I wrote… Is rather unfavorable - can affect the connection. Better directly get longer connection cable - something will certainly be there.

The can dispose of again and only take cables…
