I've watched Netflix for many hours every day since the corona virus broke out. Not only films or series that are used for entertainment, but also a lot of documentation. I'm actually not a big fan of documentaries. I wondered if we teenagers would watch everything that is available on Netflix. So this means that without Netflix we would never watch things that look like Netflix. Wouldn't there be a way to upload school topics to Netflix via information episodes? I think we students were much more interested in having this offer on Netflix.
Interesting thought actually - but I think that would explicitly appeal to too few people. Should be just documentaries that are precisely adapted to the lessons - and since each school designs the lessons a little differently, it is rather difficult. But basically a lot of documentaries on Netflix bring something for life - you forget the things you learn at school anyway.
Yes. Nevertheless, there are nationwide learning plans. In the end, every 10th grader of a high school has the same school knowledge. It would also be a better alternative to online classes. You would be flexible when and what to watch what you want
Not everyone has Netflix
Yes, but the people who have it (not very few). Would have a very big advantage with it.
Wouldn't it be unfair to those who can't afford Netflix?
It's like in society. Do you really want to ban or not offer something because the minority can't afford it? As soon as you can help over 50% of the people, you should not consider the> 50%.
That is, at least in my opinion, wrong thinking. But I can't change it and you're right, society is like that. (Sorry btw for the mistakes, I'm tired)
School policy is a national matter and it is not for nothing that a baccalaureate in Bavaria is traded higher than a baccalaureate in Hessen, but okay.
So I have no Netflix but do not think that something would interest us, we would rather watch other films or series
Documentation on different (boring for me) topics is on # 8 on Netflix.
Haha
Not everyone watches Netflix. I'm glad that we're generally allowed to go to school and that it does not always run online
YouTube is free for everyone
What for? There are tons of documentaries and recordings on school topics and non-school topics on YouTube.
Math by Daniel Jung
Math - simple club
Gregg Waterman
Too many. Not quite school-related topics:
Dad, how do I?
Terra X
CTRL_F
Arte / ZDF / NDR / etc.
Y collective
Two minute papers
Tilo Jung
Last Week Tonight
Game Maker's Toolkit
Extra credits
That would be such a nice little selection that would cover math and politics as well as some documentation to a certain extent.
Regarding quality, I have to say that I just love the Arte documentaries.
And if someone says "Joa I don't want to use YouTube": the public law media libraries can be used.
In my opinion, there's no shortage of offers for reasonable documentaries (except if you really look at an extremely large number of documentaries). And unlike Netflix, you don't have to pay extra for it. YouTube is (in itself) free of charge and the public service is covered by the broadcasting fee.
If you only care about it, screencasts with practice sessions would make more sense. Why practice lessons? Because sheer prestige is of little benefit if it is not prepared and deepened with exercises.
For the exercises, however, you would need a fixed time frame so that inquiries can also be clarified, so you would again have quite fixed periods in which you would have to look at something.
The advantage of a screencast is that you can watch it several times and, if necessary, watch questionable spots with your classmates several times by fast-forwarding and rewinding.
