Or in the series from Netflix, for example?
Let's take a 10 year old girl in a movie as the main character. It is 10 years old at the time of shooting, what will your past have been like? She is unlikely to have gone through any training, since she should have started at a younger age. I think she was really good for her age and made it look very authentic.
And are the laws for children, i.e. No young people under 18, even stricter than for example for 16 year olds? It is common that the films take 18-25 year olds who are then made up and then easily pass as 14, just so as not to be slowed down by the strict youth protection laws.
Theater school by the way.
In addition to filming, she also goes to school. Very easily
I'm aware. I wanted to know what a kid like that has to do before it can be included in a movie as the main character. How many months before the first shoot would you have to register?
With children, you make sure that the role is actually lived by the child. If an extroverted, naughty child is supposed to play, then one is also taken because no child can act really well. So you don't need a proper training, maybe a short course, but nothing extreme. The parents drag the children with them to auditions and if God wants some of them get the role
There's something like a drama group in schools all over the world. Then it is probably easier for the children to get a role like this if the parents are already actors.
Then when the casting is underway. You don't register. You audition at the casting. These children usually already have theater or acting experience.
Either natural or early school. And of course people over 18 are more likely to be taken. That has less to do with the protection of minors than with occupational safety and legal capacity 🤷♂️
