When I watch series on the Sky or Amazon streaming services, I can usually only watch them with German Syncro. Only on Netflix can I almost always choose by language - even mostly with subtitles. However, my absolute favorite series tend not to run on Netflix. So far, I have only been able to watch series like "True Detective", "Westworld", "The Expanse" or "His Dark Materials" in German.
How so? And can that be changed somehow?
So how do I see (especially HBO series) in English?

And how? So at The Expanse I didn't find out.
Either there should be language settings directly where you can select it, or in the selection menu there are twice where one is after the title [OV].
