My name is Aylin & I'm 13 years old.
At the moment I think a lot about my childhood. Despite many family problems, I had a very nice childhood, for which I'm also very grateful. Probably some of you think, At 13 your childhood is not even over. "Oh yes, it is. I just have a completely different view of the world than when I was 9, 10, 11 years old. My life at that time was only about I went to play soccer every day (with the neighboring children). I got a cell phone (so one with a touchpad) when I was 9, but I hardly ever used it. Now I'm actually very young, but it's not like I started puberty at the end of 11. Now my everyday life is all about watching Netflix, sleeping & listening to music. The boys my age only talk about body parts to girls (I think you know what I mean) & the girls talk just about their crush & about wanting to finally have a relationship. It's just completely different. I miss the time. Nothing in life is really fun anymore. It's all so serious. Probably the adults who think that now t read, girl, at your age I played outside 24 hours & had the most fun ". Great. But unfortunately there's no such thing in our youth. We hang on cell phones almost every day for at least 6 hours. I just want to be 9 again & play soccer or hide and seek with the neighboring children. But I would be completely laughed at for that. Meanwhile, my classmates and I are estimated at 18 in appearance (really). When my friends and I are walking around the city, we're constantly approached by 20-35 year old men because they think we're older. Childhood is over so quickly. At that time, I had no idea that life can sometimes be stupid (I don't want to pretend that my life is the worst, but I think everyone has low points in life). Back then I thought I could be anything I want. Today I have a somewhat more realistic view & know that it is not so. My biggest worry back then was that I would miss Angelo (a children's series) on TV if I didn't get home from playing in time. My current worries are that I'm not good enough, that I can't get to school, that I lose my friends, that I will never reach my greatest goal, etc. (not the worst worries you can have. But still is there's a big difference between my former ego & my current ego)
Were you already so "premature" when you were 13?
To me, everything sounds a bit like trying to show off your early maturity. Is it somehow something "special" to be mature? Our own perception does not have to coincide with what others see in us. Some also act at 13 as if they were already 20 and totally make a fool of themselves.
In general, however, it is observed that puberty begins earlier in children than 50 years ago. I do not have in my head which aspects play a role here, but the textbook opinion of that time has little to do with today's situation.
To your question: no, I think I was a normal 13 year old. I was not valued older or younger. And I think maturity is overrated. People should be allowed to be as they are, instead of getting bogged down in some kind of "competition".
It's all perfectly normal. You are no longer a small child, but a teenager.
If you don't want to be mistaken for 18, put on your makeup to look younger. Dress "younger".
When I was 13 I didn't think about my previous life. However, I had almost zero interest in the common interests of peers. I simply refused to bend and pursued my interests at home. I still had friends, but few and with them I shared only a small part of my life, often I only participated in their lives.
What is striking about you is that you used to be active in a group, today you are passive on your own. You could become more active on your own and start hobbies with which you are active and possibly creative, for example bodyweight exercises at home or gymnastics etc. All group activities are taking place anyway at the moment. There are always free sports courses online, e.g. On youtube. At least then you have the feeling that you are not completely alone in the task.
By the way: I only learned too late that young people with my interests were against it, just not in my class or on site. Search online, there are guaranteed to be 13 year old soccer players, especially in clubs!
Yes, from the body even at 10, I had my first days at 10 and I already had breasts, was always stupidly looked at because I already had breasts, but it didn't itch.
Since I'm very sensitive and highly sensitive, my perspective has changed with 12 certain things.
Now I'm 15 and have experienced a few things.
Are you in your mid-20s and say that "you already had ICQ"? How young were you when you used that? I thought ICQ had been down for over 10 years.
We used ICQ earlier when we were around 13 years old, that was back then haha
:) Thank you
Then you were pretty late with ICQ, I think. Yes, it was funny!
Yes, I was pretty late with ICQ, although I have to say that ICQ was only a trend for 1-2 years with us, after that nobody used it anymore. MSN was also legendary. Or the times when you still had a few cents of credit on your cell phone and had to ask if someone was calling because you ran out of credit: -D PS: Most of them didn't have a flat before.
