Above average intelligence

First of all, as many people can misunderstand it, I didn't do a dubious "online IQ test" or anything like that. Perhaps someone can help me by reading the following text (with patience). And I'm sorry if there are a few spelling and grammatical errors, it was a little later.

So I'm a 15 year old boy and how do I come up with such a topic now?

I have read through and internalized the typical symptoms that indicate above-average intelligence on several reputable sites.

I can transfer most of the symptoms to myself, I have a high sense of justice, I was able to read and write quite early, I'm very perfectionist, have a quick grasp and a good power of observation (more on this in a moment), good memory and also an early, large and advanced vocabulary.

First of all, about the symptoms below, I started reading books very early on. Starting with fantasy and since I was 14, I've been more interested in books that are unusual for their age. Among other things, books on the origin of mankind or books on body language (that's why the power of observation can be explained, I think), microaggressions or other social psychological topics.

The other symptoms are difficult to go into briefly, which is why I won't give any examples at all.

To my other "properties". I can lie very well and also often lie, not to e.g. To get out of an embarrassing situation advantageously, but because I find the reaction of my fellow human beings super exciting and how far I can go with lying, etc. Of course, sometimes for my own benefit. I'm also very good at empathizing with others.

I go to high school and my grades are rather mediocre, largely because I don't study much outside of school.

My leisure activities, after school I do about 45 minutes of calisthenics strength training (pay attention to execution and intensity), then I satisfy myself during the shower, not for reasons of stress but because I enjoy it. Then I do my homework and read for 1-2 hours. Towards evening I watch YouTube, Disney + or Netflix, as is "normal" for a teenager. Just before going to bed I meditate for about 10 minutes.

To assess my fellow human beings.

In class I'm often told that I'm good at expressing myself and arguing. My parents know that I'm not totally stupid and we talk to them accordingly, we discuss political, biological and philosophical topics.

I just wrote everything that I thought might be important somehow.

Maybe someone can give me tips or something like that, if someone has questions, I will answer them well.

Pretend you're not gifted. As you study, try to think like you're not super intelligent. Maybe then your grades will get better too.

Hope I could help you. If so, please mark this answer as helpful

Da

Yes that would be important, because bad grades tend to say that you are not

He

Unless you're so smart that you're intentionally bad!

Da

Yes, every HR manager will recognize that right away

Thank you for your help first, I'll stick to it. I don't want to set myself apart at school or seem somehow arrogant.

Doesn't sound like that in this case. He says himself that it's because he's not learning enough. The gifted, on the other hand, tend to be under-challenged and therefore bored. They usually don't even have to learn a lot to keep up.

If you were intelligent above average, then you could answer the question yourself and would not have to ask us average intelligent people!

Hence: You are completely normal! Simple average! But it's not bad!

You write about some IQ tests on various forums that quickly wipe them away.

You are a completely normal young man with a thirst for knowledge that sometimes confuses you because of the diversity you impose on yourself.

Your strength lies in the areas that you really enjoy.

Your general knowledge will certainly come with your maturity, when you are a little older. You should also pay attention to this.

Otherwise everything is completely normal, you don't need to worry.

I think you are probably overestimating yourself there. Because everything you are describing is not as extraordinary as you are telling yourself. If that is the case, a lot of people would have to be gifted. But the reality looks different. Wishful thinking or not.

And to read a lot, to be able to express yourself well and to have a large vocabulary, that is also very much connected. This is by no means unusual in combination. Not even with an average IQ. And the rest… These are characteristics that can occur in a gifted person, but not only in this one.

Anyway, to be sure you can of course have yourself tested. But Google is the wrong way to go, no matter how serious the pages you are on may be.

Different IQ tests give different results because the measurement process is not the same for all of them.

IQ tests only measure the time in which you can absorb information and process it to solve the task.

Since you can also practice these tasks, you can very likely improve your result with each run. And so, again, it's not very meaningful.

Sure, maybe you may have some special interests and perceptions compared to your peers. But are they therefore necessarily extraordinary?

In any case, I'm also familiar with the sentence: "Before school, 98% of all children are highly talented. After school it is only 2%."

Whatever. Intelligence is nothing more than the ability to grasp and process information. However, it may be very good for you.

But I see wisdom as a much higher and more desirable good.
