I M17, am starting an independent self-employment project that I firmly believe in. To achieve my dream / goal, I have to sit down every day and pull myself together to do something. And just like all good deeds that you work hard for, you will also be well rewarded (at least I hope that it will pay off otherwise I would not have started)
Although I have started, I'm not yet sure whether my great motivation for this "learning time" is just enough to sit down and do what to do.
I found some help on YouTube; Start and later you don't want to stop because you are already in the middle of it. Motivation is only in the head, in the end it is like everything that is boring; exhausting and boring but good for my future. - Motivation arises when you have come to the point where all the effort would have been in vain to stop.
Thanks to Corona and the whole "being at home" (that's what I call it now) I wanted to take the opportunity to completely redesign the daily monotonous "keep your free time". And so, instead of being happy on the Internet for a short time, I work for something with which I will be even more happy in a few months or the joy will at least help me to shape something out of my unique life. - Just like some people decide to quit smoking or to live healthier: To enforce a very costly will can be exhausting, but in the end a liberation.
At the same time, Germany offers everyone at a young age, at least if one is smart, to achieve something through education and support. And I take this chance to be born here and to have this great luck.
Suppose you have a project in mind for which you will need several months, maybe even several years. In order to achieve the goal you have to take your free time and develop further (a hell of a performance if you have a cozy bed with Netflix right next to you), how much time would you take for it?
It shouldn't be too long but not too short either (mM of course). I myself am now at around 45 to almost 60 minutes. During the day and always start at 6 p.m. Just to have a routine.
The survey: How much time would you spend on a project or this project so that you can develop further in life without losing motivation or having the feeling that you are not learning anything?
Thank you and have a nice Friday evening!
P.S. Please don't bring up a "you can't do it anyway" number. I believe in it and even if it doesn't work, I'm convinced that I have at least made it / tried to realize it out of my life.
(Let's forget what it looks like in private life and time; In general, how much time you would take for it would help me to find an orientation)
I studied business administration correspondence course alongside my normal 10 hours work. 6 semesters. 2 hours a day and 8 hours a day on the weekend. It wasn't easy.
I also work on a lengthy private project and I always had motivational surges and dropouts… I spent a week doing it at 5 o'clock in the morning and sometimes not at all… And that felt best for me… It's similar to Elon Musk who takes 80 hours a week for his companies. With my projects, I never had to actively force myself to take care of the project, instead the desire came, I spent a long time working on it and after that I had less desire and concentrated on other projects or on other dependent events waited… E.g. I wanted to build a PV system and now I'm waiting for the upcoming EEG 2021 and the EU uranium directive, which also regulates PV. Or the topic of Smart Home: I'm waiting for a certain product and the reviews for it. Neither of these will come out before 2022 and there's not much you can do about that other than looking at alternatives or similar. Or take care of other projects.
I'll put it this way; if your goal is to type a lot of empty space, you have a lot of talent. What project? What is this whole meaningless coaching blah blah?
When I want something, when I want to know something, I do self-study for several hours a day.
