Philips FS loses channels after switching off?

Our 3.5 year old Philips TV has lost all channels since yesterday. We have DVBT. After switching it off and on again, he wants to start the station search.

I had tried Netflix now and there were two crashes in quick succession. The following night the TV turned on by itself and as I said, then the problem with the channels. Can Netflix have anything to do with it?

The Philips hotline wasn't really helpful either…

Av

DVB-T is no longer available, that could be a reason, if DVB-T really is then I'm surprised that you could still receive channels until yesterday

Bo

Sorry, my mistake, then we have DVB-T2 HD:-)

Av

OK, will he find the station if you let him search?

It automatically updates the station list every night from stand-by, i.e. It does a search, if it finds no stations the station list is empty, that can be a failure of the antenna, or the DVB-T2 station at night due to maintenance work.

Run a station search, in the menu under station settings you can turn it off with the station update.

Bo

Yes, it can find all channels again, and when we've sorted them out nicely, they'll be gone the next time you turn it on. Strangely enough, however, the Freenet card no longer works for private broadcasters either. Everything private is encrypted. I'll try that with the automatic channel update.

Av

Check once whether a software update is available for the TV, since a reset only resets the settings with Philips, that doesn't help with the problem either, but disconnecting it from the power for 5 minutes could also have an effect.

Bo

Philips sent us a software for the update, but it doesn't work. We have already taken it off the current.

Av

Did you get a stick with the software?

Bo

They emailed us software, but my husband says it didn't work. He just called a dealer who said the board could be defective - cost about 400 euro. Then we can buy a new TV right away

Av

Try to pull the software onto a stick and then get the update on the television.

Bo

Got it on the stick, I'll try it…

Ma

Then get yourself a receiver.
