Is it because netflix is only interested in profit and has therefore approved every reasonably good-sounding script in order to quickly launch a new star trek series?
Discovery was awesome.
Different production team and different concept. The team of authors in particular has been strengthened and Patrick Stewart is himself a producer (and, as is well known, he likes profound actions more than action). It is closer to the original (or TNG) than Discovery. Otherwise, it is a matter of taste, who likes what.
And as far as I can tell, Discovery got better with the second season, so it could well be because it was simply the first production with a new team.
That turned out to be nonsense.
