Do you consume media such as YouTube videos, Netflix, (audio) books mostly in German or your mother tongue or rather in English and why?
I consume almost exclusively English media, be it games, films, series or YouTube videos.
Yes, both. Youtube rather in English because the videos have more views which means to meet people from all over the world there, is otherwise world language. But audio books and series etc. In German, after all, I speak this language, it would be a shame not to use it xD
Since I'm an absolute buff in English in German, I would not watch any further series because I would always have to concentrate too much on finding out what exactly they are talking to each other now.
As for reading, that's different. When reading books, I use languages like English and French, because it is easier there, then I take books that I already know, so it is easier for me to understand the plot. I don't have the same problem with reading in English as I do with hearing, this is largely due to the pronunciation of the words.
Ditto, 90% of the time I only look in English. You just have so much more choice and can see things earlier
That's the way it is and often you don't even need to start with German dubbing
Netflix and so always in English, unless I watch it on the side.
Anime then in Japanese with mostly German subtitles.
YouTube videos in English and German depending on the video
I prefer English because most of the series and films are originally in English anyway and I just think that's better.
I've been doing it this way for about a year. I started with YouTube videos and then moved on to series, films, etc. My English has improved a lot since then.
I also think English is a beautiful language.
I've learned a thousand times more English through the Internet than I did in all of my school days. Actually sad haha.
Yes, English has something. Of course, I wouldn't want to miss German either.
