A friend of mine got interested in anime. He completely quit Naruto yesterday and asked me for recommendations. Since he would probably not like the anime that I recommend to him, I ask here. He's not a fan of Shojo or his. The anime should have under 100 episodes. You should be able to watch it completely on Netflix. He liked Naruto a lot so this is the direction to go. I don't want to recommend anything wrong to him, because I don't want him to lose interest in the medium

Well pokemon is childhood but he is kept quite childish in my opinion.
Wanted to suggest HxH (i.e. Hunter x Hunter) But there are not all consequences
Assassination classroom was my first. Maybe he likes it too.
Start with Tokyo Ghoul if you want it extreme, death note is a classic and I started with Assassination Classroom. Or Death Parade is also good at the beginning and then you look at Violet Evergarden.
For me it was also the first (still one of my favorites)
Have a look at Seven deadly sins. Haikyuu is also an option!
