Why can't I sign in to Netflix?

I do not have a gift certificate, I do not want to sign up for Paypal and I do not have a credit card but only a girocard so I wanted to pay via a direct debit but that does not work either. Why is not that possible? Do you have to have a credit card for this as well?

To register, Netflix wants a form of payment to check the age of the new customer. Therefore, it is better to log in via PayPal. Later you can still change the payment method and pay by voucher. Only the first month not.

As far as I know direct debit was taken away because many took advantage of it for the free trial month but you can so if you have no paypal and no credit card then you can buy vouchers that goes without other payment details

So with me it was synonymous with no other means of payment

Direct debit is not "taken away". I have been paying Netflix for over 3 years via direct debit.
