To my problem.
I live on the 1st floor, with my great-grandma below me, from there I would like to amplify the Wi-Fi so that up here on the 1st floor I can receive as much as possible from the 50 line.
A Fritz is currently running downstairs! Box 7430, above we have a Xiaomi Wi-Fi 2 repeater, both only run with a 2.4 GHz band. In a corner of the apartment on the 1st floor we have full reception from below, but there we only receive 20mb / s. The repeater is placed there. If no other device uses the Wi-Fi, I also receive almost 20mb / s through the repeater, but if Netflix and my computer are running I can be happy to receive 10mb / s.
Now to my question, how do I get the most stable Wi-Fi possible on the 1st floor? Of course it should also be as cheap as possible. Powerline sockets are probably not a solution because of separate power circuits. I can't get a LAN cable up here either.
Since the router downstairs is already older, I thought of placing a TP-Link Archer C6 on the lower floor, which should actually be enough to provide Wi-Fi up here as well?
Both floors have a size of approx. 60-65 square meters.
What would you recommend to us?
There are also things that distribute the Wi-Fi through the power lines throughout the house…

Back then, I arranged it with a Devolo, since the internet runs through the electrical circuit
That will not be possible here, as both living levels run through a separate electricity meter and accordingly will be a separate electricity circuit.
Our WLAN router is on the 1st basement… We have repeaters on the ground floor and on the 1st floor. Works great: 100% performance!
Your grandmother should have a repeater close to the ceiling, yours on the floor in the same place, that would be the closest possible positioning with the chance of getting the highest possible transmission rates. I think you can test it without much effort
Are there also telephone sockets upstairs? Is it possible to loop the incoming cable through to the top, because the router is attached and only gives grandma a phone downstairs? Either with the wires down and plugged in there or simply a DECT phone that is registered in the router and configured with grandma's number?
And how does that help the FS now?
Yes, we have a telephone socket here. But how can I loop the incoming cable upwards? Your phone is a DECT phone anyway, so that wouldn't be a problem!
Which router and which repeaters do you have?
The cable with 2 wires goes from the basement of the APL to the socket below where the router is currently connected. Either another cable goes up from there to the socket, there are further junction boxes or several cables arrive in the basement. Open the cans.
Ultimately, you have to connect the incoming wires from the basement with those to the socket above and then connect the router above.
Then the WLAN starts at the top and should easily fill the 65sqm.
If you don't trust yourself to do it, you can hire an electrician or Telekom to do it.
That would actually be awesome! Cool! I have to see that right now, that would be really awesome.
