Connect MacBook / iPhone / iPad to projector?

I bought a projector and a Thunderbolt to HMDI cable for the MacBook Air. After changing the settings under System Settings - Monitors, the Mac was also mirrored without any problems. By the way, does anyone know what to set so that the image is only on the projector and the Mac remains dark?

In any case, I saw on Amazon that there are also Lightning to HDMI cables. Each provider says that Safari & YouTube work, but not the Netflix or Prime app because of copy protection. Are there any cables that can do this? Or can I not just play the videos via Safari like on a Mac? Or does that not work on a tablet or phone?

To question 1:

Unfortunately, this is not possible with MacBooks. But you can close the MacBook and the picture and the sound will still be transmitted. However, you will then need an external keyboard and mouse.

To question 2:

The copy protection is nonsense in this context. What you can see and hear on your device is transmitted via the HDMI cable. The copy protection only means that the films are not z. B. Can be copied to a USB stick.
