Tv / Netflix device for train / chemotherapy?

My mother starts chemo in 1-2 weeks due to breast cancer, which she has to do for 1 year. This lasts about 2-4h each and in addition she has to drive about 2.5h train. I want to give her some device, ie IPad or tablet etc, on which she could look Netflix, so that the time goes around faster. The device is really only intended for Netflix look, so there are no other factors such as work functions etc are respected. It should be just comfortable for the train, as well as during the chemo. The screen should not be too small, but the device itself is not huge and not heavy. Price is unfortunately (because I'm still a student) so around 1000-2000 euro in it. Can someone recommend a suitable device or maybe tell me which one I should not take under any circumstances?

There's actually every tablet (Android or iOS). It should only have enough memory so that she can download the films beforehand. But you could also solve with an SD card. If you want to give something good, you take an IPad. Costs from about 500 euro. An Android tablet you get for half.
