Are cartoons from yesterday, today, not suitable for children?

So, I watched Bugs Bunnys Wild, Daring Hunts on Netflix. I still know it from before and I still crack my way today

My father recorded it on videotape at Easter and we all watched it at family home evening. Oh, those were still good times… 😢

In any case, I know a couple of work colleagues who explain to me that you shouldn't show something like that to small children today because it would wreak havoc on violence and drug use.

So, I grew up with it and I'm neither a violent person nor a drug addict

What's wrong with some parents? Are many children wrapped in cotton too much?

I don't have any children myself, so maybe I can't understand that, but what do you think?

Oh, there was already complaining back then. This is nothing new.

Yes, I can laugh about that too. The cartoons or films that children (are allowed to) watch today are sometimes really harder. Bugs Bunny and also tom and Jerry are so wonderfully exaggerated that even small children understand that this is not serious.

I grew up with Saber Rider, Galaxy Rangers, Skeleton Warriors or Dinoriders. There wasn't all peace, joy, pancakes either. Trick shows change, but the content itself remains the same.

Children know that there are monsters. Stories like that show them they can be killed… Metaphorically speaking.

Nor can you lump all children together.

"Marshall Bravestarr" was so cool too… Back then, a lot of cartoons were set in space.

I never really got off the space western. I always enjoy watching Galaxy Rangers and Cowboy Bebop. The latter also because of the absolutely brilliant music.
