That might sound a bit stupid at first, but would that be possible with tricks? Because I only have one Full HD monitor, but I would love to stream Netflix and Disney + 4k content on it as well. As you know from Youtube, 4k looks much better on a Full HD monitor than 1080p. And since you can only stream the 4k content with Netflix or Disney + if you also have a 4k television or monitor, it would of course be good if you could fake a "wrong" resolution for these streaming platforms.
Much better than 1080p on a Full HD monitor.
Can't be because FullHD and 1080p are identical.
If you have a newer NVidia graphics card then you can use DSR (assuming you don't have an nVidia Optimus), if you have an AMD RX card then you can use AMD VSR.
For example, you may have advantages in bitrate when watching videos in 4k. That could explain the difference.
4K on a 1080p / FHD monitor is technically not possible, not even with tricks. What you will notice, however, is that streams in 4K can still look much better than in FHD, since platforms such as Youtube like to use different video codecs for different resolutions and switch to the next worse codec in the event of problems. This means that you can stream even on an FHD monitor in a higher quality picture quality if you use 4K, even if you can't see real 4K due to the lack of technology.
Because as you know it from Youtube, 4k looks much better on a Full HD monitor than 1080p.
There it is meant that the playback of videos in 4k on his 1080p monitor looks better than when they are played back in 1080p.
That doesn't even have to be nonsense, as YouTube limits the bit rate.
Although it looks a bit better for you than 1080p, it is really not a 4k that is only thought because your monitor can't do 4k.
