Couple questions about the TV stick and TV?

I want to get my grandma's TV into my room because I want to watch Netflix on it. My brother says that would not work, because the TV is not a smart TV and Netflix has not. So I googled and there's this TV STICK. Now my brother said that the TV anyway has no Internet so I can't get it in my room and that I have no connection (socket is not) and you would have to make a cable through the whole house.

I have no idea if that's what jmd understood because I do not really have a plan for it. To my question: is there a way to get the TV in my room?

So if the Tv Stick has W-Lan you can of course use it.
