Have you already managed your digital legacy?

Or thought about what to do with your accounts if you should ever die?

Many people have never thought of what happens to their legacies in social networks and login data for smartphones and laptops, for profiles on Facebook or Instagram and many others, for cloud storage or for paid online services such as Netflix, Spotify, etc.

If I close my eyes forever, it doesn't matter what happens to the records.

Ultimately, you will be managed by companies and individuals anyway, who will do whatever comes closest to their interests.

See "1984" by George Orwell.

In my personal documents I have among other things A list of my digital accounts with access data. If I ever get my feet up, my heirs can have these accounts deleted.

Otherwise, I have no large digital legacies…

Is more of an additional question: will the providers at some point delete an account that is no longer used?

I don't really care about my contributions, but it would be good if online friends could somehow find out that I'm dead.

Ch

No, most accounts then simply remain unused forever (see Girlfriend).

Yes, that's how I see it, although nobody would care about me. But many then worry that often go in the wrong direction… Eg feelings of guilt because one no longer answers, etc. I don't know how to solve this, except to "commission" someone to do it, whom one would trust.

On Facebook there's the possibility to register someone who can delete the account after death.

But if you keep a little book with all accounts and access data and tell your heirs where to find it, they can get down to work if they want. But otherwise… Let it stand still. At some point the providers no longer exist and at the latest then accounts are gone.

Not just digital. There's also an Akashic Record.

Everything that a person has ever felt / thought is stored in the consciousness, forever. Nothing is lost.

Ch

Yes, I know, very interesting.

Pa

What is that?
