A very good book is Usul al Thalatha (The Three Principles) by Muhammad ibn Abdul_Wahhab.
Sufism has been an integral part of Islam for 1400 years. Hasan al-Basri, Sultan Saladin, Ibn Taymiyya, Ibn Qayyim, Ibn Hajar al-Askalani, Imam Dhahabi and Sultan Mehmed II were all Sufis.
Ibn Taymiyya was a member of the Qadiri order and praised Sufi such as Junaid al-Baghdadi, Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani and Abu Ismail al-Harawi. Just because he was against some Sufis, he was not against Sufism. You obviously don't know anything about the man you call "Shaykh al-Islam".
