Why is modern GUI design so bad?

Maybe one of you knows your way around and can tell me why modern GUIs are so confusing, cluttered and not created with any system nowadays? Whether Windows, Netflix, Amazon or even Deviantart and co. You really have the feeling that you only value the colors and not the intuitive design. Everything can only be found via search slots and only there if there's no 0 8 15 algorithm behind it. So what is the point and use of this? Or am I, at 27 years of age, so from the last century that I have a dinosaur intuition?

Is who still doing?

I can understand.
Most run after a bell-bell.
Since Windows 8, buttons are often no longer really marked as such, as under e.g. Sp. XP. Many run after this failed style because they don't want to be "old-fashioned".
I myself use Qt4.8.7 (as a GUI library) for my stuff - everything looks like under NT at first - so buttons like buttons.
In addition, buttons on websites are actually links, and you are sometimes so creative that it becomes incomprehensible. Yes, I swore at DeviantArt…

Since there's no way of comparing colors and intuitively, at least in terms of design, I can't give you an answer because the comparison does not make any sense to me.

The UIs of most services these days are highly compressed. So, with a few exceptions, menus are usually as simplified as they are. This also comes from the fact that a huge target group can only be reached via mobile devices.

A search is mostly used simply because it is simply less cluttered than menus with many submenus and still delivers the same results.

I would rather say that the visual menu navigation has come to the fore. Instead of a lot of text, there are only previews and the products are brought to the fore. Settings and other unimportant menu items are hidden behind burger menus and the like. As a result, the overall picture of the offer remains clear and the priority is on the product.
