Don't you think that a VPN is mainly used to watch films illegally on the Internet or something like that?
or are you one of the people who even watch YouTube with VPN so that it is even difficult to track.
I'm also aware that you have access to the American Netflix and co. But I'm of the opinion that this security is only used for illegal things in the network.
I would be interested to hear your opinion.
I use VPN to access the ZDF media library abroad.
My company uses VPN so I can work from home.
Technology alone says little about what you use it for…
With VPN I can get my data from the school server. But it never occurred to me that I could watch videos with it. As well as? After all, only n file servers are released.
VPNs are also used to access the company network because with a VPN the connection is encrypted.
Of course you can also abuse it, but that's exactly how it works with proxy Server
Ah - the first sentence already explains that you are looking for confirmation of your own opinion and less interested in acquiring knowledge.
Too bad.
Maybe came over like that but I would really be interested in what you think about it.
This actually meant a private VPN such as Nord VPN
VPNs are a fine thing for the application for which they are intended:
Encryption of data in public WLANs and secure access to LANs.
Anyone who thinks he is safe if he does something illegal is a fool.
Don't you think that a VPN is mainly used to watch films illegally on the Internet or something like that?
Mainly? No.
Occasionally? Yes.
or are you one of the people who even watch YouTube with VPN so that it is even difficult to track
WTF?! That would be completely meaningless, if not to say paranoid at most…
Especially since the connection itself can only be seen by outsiders (such as the crazy network administrator). In terms of all the tracking stuff, etc. It is completely irrelevant whether the connection is via VPN, VDSL or VXX.
I'm also aware that you have access to the American Netflix and co.
Oh, is that you? OK
And what if the EndPoint "happens" not in the USA but e.g. On the ground floor next to the cellar door? -.-
but I'm of the opinion that this security is only used for illegal things in the network.
Blah…
Surely there are some people who use this purpose-oriented use of VPN (all this rubbish such as "NordVPN" and what they are all called…).
But there are also a hell of a lot of people who still use VPN in the same way and for the same purpose it was originally created for.
What's private about it? Do you actually know what VPN is? There's no private VPN. It's always private.
