Netflix from TV to AV Receiver 5.1 no sound?

I have the following problem:

I have a new Philips TV with Netflix and an AV receiver.

Now the TV is connected with the HDMI cable as well as with an optical audio cable for the audio output.

The problem is that when I start Netflix (with 5.1 sound) there's always a trembling sound over the speakers and no music or sounds from the film / series. But when I switch from "German 5.1" to "German", the sound is normal but only stereo and not over all 5 speakers. Have already searched everything in the settings but found nothing.

Can anyone help me?

Pa

What haste set on the TV with audio output?

Va

HDMI

Pa

But if you have already connected TV to the AVR via HDMI, you can save the optical cable, remove it and try again, otherwise you can take pictures from the sound menu of the TV and AVR - that's always stupid if you can't see it yourself and also other manufacturers use

Pa

Since you are using an optical cable, the HDMI setting would be wrong, then optical would have to be selected, the HDMI cable therefore only functions for the transmission of the picture and the optical one for the sound, but that's rubbish because HDMI does both and the HDMI is sufficient Cable off.

Va

When I look in the sound setting, there's nothing about optical output. TV and HDMI sound system only

Pa

Did you remove the optical cable?

is the HDMI cable in the correct HDMI input?

tell me the correct names of the devices (TV / AVR)

Va

Have now removed the optical cable. No difference. I only noticed that when I switch to 5.1 on Netflix, the receiver says Dolby Digital + and the normal only Dolby Digital. Could it be that the reveiver no longer supports this sound? The AV receiver is 10 years old

Va

Philips 50pus7800 and Denon AVR-1911

Pa

With DTS this could happen because this is subject to a license.

but it's so hard to say.

As I said, try to take photos of the settings because you can help much better and faster.

I have NEN LG and NEN Onkyo AVR since everything is a little different than with other manufacturers

Pa

Ok i'll see what i can find out. I just have to go to work right away, but when I'm there I don't have time so I'll have a look

Va

There are only the possibilities:

-TV speakers

-HDMI sound system

-Headphone

-TV speakers off

-TV speakers + headphones

It says nothing more

Pa

So I looked, that's how it should work and that's not usually what it is

the HDMI cable to the TV-HDMI ARC - to AVR-HDMI monitor ARC.
In Settings / Audio output: Set the television so that the sound is reproduced via the television or the connected audio system.

If that doesn't work either, there's a problem with your AVR, so you should reset it and set it up again

Va

When I switch it to the TV speaker. Does the sound come from the TV and the sound system is quiet. The strange thing is, when I start Netflix, the typical Netflix sound comes across all 5 boxes, only as soon as I start a film or series, the shakes come. On the TV in the settings there are still the following options:

-Stereo

-Multi-channel

-Multi-channel (bypass)

And I have it on bypass and it says that you should make sure that the system supports Dolby Digital +. But if I only go to multi-channel, the normal channel on the TV is also with the trembling sound. No sound at all with stereo

Pa

I don't have Netflix, but can I set anything in the settings for Netflix? Otherwise, as I said, the first time I would completely reset the AVR and set it up again

Va

No, unfortunately with Netflix there are no settings on the television. But I just read on the internet that the AVR no longer supports Dolby Vision. So it's really up to the AVR

Pa

Dolby Vision is an HDR technology, has nothing to do with the sound

Va

Ok then I still can't explain what's going on
