Are cable companies still successful or bankrupt in the US?

Satellite TV is probably not as widespread in the USA as in Germany and there was the cable TV very popular and I wonder if the cable companies in the US still make good money because there more than ten years ago, almost all people watch 8 hours a day and nowadays only about half as much sit in front of the TV and often prefer to enjoy fast Internet and often watch videos on Youtube. What I'm aware of could soon be history in the US series and movies being made by the cable companies (because maybe sales and profits are shrinking) and people will probably only use Netflix and Co in the future, or some would rather stay true to cable TV and dispense with expensive services like Netflix?

I think they do not have that much dsl and cables are instead used for high-speed lines.
