I have no idea about Netflix, I just know that almost everyone looks at it somehow. I would like to improve my English and would therefore like to watch English films with English subtitles. I'm assuming that you can choose English as your language, but are there subtitles? They would be really important to me because otherwise I don't understand that much. Or can you recommend me anything else?

English films with English subtitles are ok, with German subtitles it does nothing.
Yes, videos from all over the world with (automatic) subtitles can be found on YouTube.
Yes, there are English subtitles for almost all films / series. It's a great way to improve your English! At some point you can watch without subtitles:-)
