Someone is reading my messages?

My friend gave me his Netflix account (email and password) yesterday via Whatsapp. A few hours later, he receives a message that his password has been reset because a person from China has logged in. Today I created a Google account and after 5 minutes I got the message that my number had been added.

My question is simply why and what can I do about it?

What kind of cell phone do you have? Don't say a China copy

If the problem has not already been solved, here are some food for thought.

Your WhatsApp messages can only be read by someone who mirrors your WhatsApp on a computer via WhatsApp Web. So this shouldn't be the problem.
Another way to read your WhatsApp messages is when someone has installed an expensive spy app on your smartphone. But this requires root on your cell phone.
Then where did you enter the Netflix data? On your smartphone? Maybe still in a browser? Or via app? If you can do two of these questions, the next question will come.
Did you activate VPN or any other obfuscation software on the device you logged into with your Netflix account? Then this could be the culprit.

About your problem with Google, which is actually not a problem at all. Google added the number to the game with the last update to protect your account from unauthorized access. So you would also get a notification when someone else uses your account on their smartphone.
