Make old LCD TV again reasonably receptive?

I have an old 32 "Samsung LCD TV standing here, which, after this year the analogue signal has been switched off, no longer receives, but I do not want to throw it away." Receiving via a DVB-T receiver is not possible because the TV is just the old one A DVB-C receiver would be theoretically in question, but then I would have to drill through two walls and lay cables through half the apartment and I'm honestly not upset, especially since I'm here in one or two years In addition, such a DVB-C receiver costs so synonymous money.

Is there perhaps a kind of cheap stick, which can connect to the USB or HMDI port of the TV and then the public, private and possibly even other multimedia stuff (Youtube, Netflix, etc.) can receive? That would be, if there was such a thing, probably the most uncomplicated solution of the problem. Which options are there? With which did you have experiences? Which one can you recommend? (should not be too expensive if possible) Max 50 euro)

TV-Dau thanks you for your help!

Addendum: It should be really easy to use, ideally via a remote because it is intended for an older person. It must be halfway "pensioner-suitable".

If your TV has a HDMI connection, get a Chromecast, so you can at least get Internet on the TV. So Youtube, Netflix etc.

I do not completely understand this. According to your question, you have previously synonymous analog cable received. Come on the same cable, why would you have to drill now suddenly?

Reception via a DVB-T receiver is not possible because the TV only supports the old H.264 format.

I did not quite get it. Does not he have HDMI?

Pi

Because I just moved into the current apartment…

Pi

Sure he has HMDI, but the new DVB-T2 standard in Germany requires that the TV HEVC / H.265 is capable…

Al

I thought the receiver decoded that.

Je

A DVB-T2 receiver does not care if the TV only controls H.264.

The image is decoded in the receiver and sent via HDMI to the TV.

This also applies to DVB-S2 and DVB-C receivers.

Likewise, you could, for example, use an Amazon FireTV stick.

The latest model can even display 4K.

If you have a good internet connection, you can also use Waipu.tv, Zattoo, Netflix, and other streaming providers via the app as a source. A Prime subscription is not necessary.

I use the FireTV (1st Generation) especially in connection with the media player "Kodi". This makes it very flexible to access various media sources. There are a lot of apps in Kodi's own "Store".

Ma

Not the TV needs h. 265 but the receiver

Al

Just.

Pi

Okay, thank you for the information!

Va

Not with an external receiver if one would be built into the TV, then this built-in support would have.
If you maybe spend 20 euro more might be the device Xoro HST 260 as DVB-T2 or DVB-S2 or DVB-C variant for 50 euro, there's the Adroid Box synonymous with no tuner only with IP TV / Streamingdienste. Whereby the tuners also support IP TV / streaming services. Personally, I have cable here but we also have a Gemeischaftsschüssel on the roof… So with me with DVB-S2 variant… To not I can take the thing then also on the weekend in the garden.
Disadvantage: the devices have no card slot for HD TV & Co. But then I prefer to unlock Netflix.

By the way:

The 4k-capable FireTV dominates in addition to the H.264 standard and the H.265 standard. Only then is a 4k streaming possible.

If this codec is available, also with the streaming of FullHD films clearly less bandwidth is needed.

This codec is just more effective than the H.264, which is designed for FullHD and Bluerays is used.

However, this only affects movies that are streamed directly from Amazon. I do not know what that looks like with the various other apps. That will be like this, or something.

Pi

Do I also get the "public rights" streamed via this Amazon Fire Stick? My line is sufficient (100/20 Mbit)

Je

You can access the media libraries and also partially access the live stream.

For "real" life TV commercial services, such as Waipu.TV, or Zattoo are required. This I do not use and therefore do not know about it.

You can find out more details in the descriptions.
