I would like to pay Netflix by direct debit from my account as I will move out soon and this would be more practical (so far my mother has been paying). However, I'm only 17 (it'll take until I'm 18) and you can only complete the contract with Netflix from 18. Could I give my mother's name and date of birth but my account for the direct debit, or would that be illegal?
It would not be illegal to conclude the contract in your name, nor complete it on behalf of your mother and pay with your account, no.
Alternatively, you can pay with netflix prepaid cards. You can get that at many cash registers in the supermarket, gas station or the post office.
Does not your mother want to use netflix? I have also set up 4 profiles on my account and use it together with parents and friends. They give me their share, the account runs on my debit. So you could leave it so if your mother wants to use, then you give her your share of the costs if necessary, as a standing order.
