Netflix with a gift card?

I have received a gift card and now want to know if you have to enter your account details to register netflix if you have the voucher code.

When you create a new account, you first search on Google or something like "create a Netflix account". Then you write your email in and click on 30 days to start the trial month. Then you just have to fill out stuff like that… Next, at some point there's how you want to pay and at the bottom is "Gift Card" and you have to enter your gift code.
