But I don't see the vacation idea behind a domestic vacation. What kind of vacation is it when you are

can't go out to eat (restaurants are only allowed to deliver)

I don't rent a vacation home so that I can only watch Netflix there and run to Aldi from time to time or have something delivered to me.

Since I live in Austria, I would immediately go on vacation in Austria. I don't go climbing at home, but a little further away.
But it will be difficult with a ban on accommodation.
With the current development, I would definitely not go on vacation. In addition, it is simply very modest when everything is closed and nothing can be done.
Usually I'm a friend of them - wine-growing regions, Sylt, lakes - we have wonderful hotels and areas. Especially when it comes to wellness.
Ah right, the hotels are not allowed to offer wellness, even for the guests who are allowed in. That comes on top of that ^^ "
That's the way it is. And that is precisely what German hotels are very good at. Great baths, saunas and 'body-hugging services'.
The question is rather what vacation means for you and whether you get the same relaxation from it.
Some also like to go hiking, in the mountains. Go kayaking, diving,.
For me, a vacation in Germany is basically not a vacation. Short breaks very much.
But often it doesn't matter where you are, as long as the right people are there.
I understand z. B. Also no people who go to the Baltic and North Sea. Is not for me. Been there more than 20 times ^^ (also as a child)
Well, everyone has a different idea of vacation.
In theory, I can go to the mountains and go hiking there. In the evening I can sit on the terrace of my holiday home, turn on the grill and drink a couple of cool blondes.
Even when the shops / museums are closed, I can still see the city.
I can also drive to the sea and sit on the beach away from the main promenades.
The only thing I would skip on a domestic vacation is dining out. But I can live with that if need be.
Regardless of that, I wouldn't want to go on vacation at the moment anyway. I hope that it will look different again in summer and that I can enjoy my relaxed (domestic) vacation.
The only "vacation spot" where you currently do not put people or yourself in danger is your own four walls. It's an extremely tough test of patience and we don't know for how long.
To make the pandemic a thing of the past as soon as possible, we should pull ourselves together and continue patiently.
