Should I spend some of my money?

I have been saving my money (also selling DVDs) since November because I want to buy tickets for the BTS concert (first I wanted to save for a tattoo, but when the tour came out I saved for the ticket). The presale would actually be the day after tomorrow, but it was postponed to May 1st.

In any case, I have 154.28 euro so far and until May 1st I would add about 50-60 euro (normal pocket money).

I plan (depending on how much money my girlfriend gets and whether I have to pay for her ticket or not) either one from 55 euro, from 75 euro or (if I only have to buy one and my girlfriend gets enough together) a maximum of 150 euro to buy. If I have to pay for yours, there's no more than max. 75 euro.

At any rate it is "Corona Holidays" at the moment and to be honest I'm bored to death. I watch TV shows on Netflix in the evening, tidy up my room (muck everything out, etc.), but it gets boring in the long run.

So I would like to buy a book that I haven't been able to do for a long time by saving. Since the shops will close tomorrow, I would order one and have it delivered to my home, but I'm unsure whether I should really spend any of my money? (I'm always a bit stingy when I really want something. Then I don't really like it when I have other expenses). However, I would like to read something again and actually it would only be 10-20 euro depending on what kind of book it is and I would get another 50-60 euro pocket money until May.

Do you think I should put my "stinginess" back a little and buy a book or wait until I have the tickets (or only mine)? I actually always have a huge head over such "trifles" because we don't have that much money and if I had a little more money I would like to save it forever and not spend it at all or only for that what I really want (like the tickets).

No

So, I would speak to your parents if you would not buy the book anyway if you ask them nicely and otherwise: yes, you should buy the book. 10-20 euro is not the world, and if your girlfriend doesn't get ENOUGH together, she can always add something. I do not see a problem there. You get your pocket money and saved. You can afford this exception!

Thanks ^^

No, unfortunately my mother can't give me anything because we don't have that much money. I haven't bought anything for months, because apart from 30 euro a month and the money for the DVDs I sold, I had no way of saving the money. I had also been looking for a part-time job, but they only wanted to hire for Easter and Christmas and because of the corona virus, so many shops are closing that they probably won't hire anyone anymore.

I'll just have a look at what books I find, there's always a large selection at Thalia, especially in the online shop ^^

I think if you spend 10-20 euro on a book now, that would be perfectly fine. You have to treat yourself to something.

I can recommend rebuy to you. There are used books in very good / good condition (depending on the situation), sometimes for very little money (1-5 euro). I was able to buy six books for 18 euro, almost all like new.

I totally understand what you mean. I'm the same.

If I were you, I would probably just buy the book used. E.g. From rebuy or medimops.

You can get books for real snapper prices like 2 euro.

You just have to see if you are very picky about the condition of your books.

And even if not, you might choose a thin book (200-300 pages). The costs usually only from 8-15 euro and that would also be cheaper again.

But even with 20 euro I don't think there would be any problems.

How about if you buy the book used, it will be cheaper.

I could also recommend Arvelle in addition to the things mentioned like Medimops and Rebuy. However, both Thalia and Amazon have free eBooks. At Amazon you can read them on your phone using the Kindle app. At the moment, some authors have their books in the store for free because of the corona virus. If yes, can you scroll through the bestselling free eBooks?

No

Otherwise you could look for used books or in the library, at least in which I know membership is free if you are under 18 ☺️
