High shoes in the office in America normal?

I'm watching suits on Netflix and of course know that a series does not always reflect the true world.

Nevertheless, I now ask myself the question (because I can imagine that), whether the American women actually wear high-heeled shoes every day and walk around in business looks. With us that is rather uncommon and you come a little fancier, but rather normal dressed to work. In addition, that sounds pretty uncomfortable and unhealthy, because you make your feet completely broken…

Has anyone ever had any experience on this subject, or does it know how it is there with "office clothing"?

Is here with us but also common

That a series does not always reflect the true world.

The understatement of the century.

Most companies have dress codes and then they are dressed accordingly. If you e.g. You have a lot of customer contact, attracts you chic, as if you only sit in the back office.

Especially higher ladies are every day - more or less - top styled and wear high shoes. However, they do not actually walk all day in the building, but sit in meetings or telephone conferences, so that's quite bearable. But that's not just in America, but everywhere.
