What is the difference between being high and being stoned?

So if we now refer to a country where cannabis is legal (e.g. In the US):

What is the exact difference between "high" and "stoned"?

I just know that high (from sativa) is more likely to get an energy boost and stoned (from indica) is more like relaxing and coming down.

I would now be interested in whether this assumption is correct and whether there are other characteristics?

And what I also ask myself:

What is consumed most often - Sativa (high) or Indica (stoned)? Or what is most preferred - a high or a stone?

Or does it always depend entirely on the situation, which makes both variants equally popular? Would you rather be high to chill with friends and stoned to relax alone (e.g. Listening to music, watching Netflix and eating)?

I would guess that it doesn't matter in Germany because what the dealer has in the range is always smoked

Yes, that's right.

High is like "oh my god I'm so on it haha"

Stoned is when you sit there and no longer understand the world. Someone asks something and 3 minutes later you answer "what?"

We smoke more indica

In my opinion you got that right, it depends on the situation, e.g. When you're at a party, of course, high is better than stoned, but I think being stoned with friends is also chilled out
